Random Number Generator
Draw random numbers between any minimum and maximum — choose how many, allow or block duplicates, and get a fresh set instantly. Includes a distribution chart and set statistics. Free, no sign-up.
Advanced options
With vs without duplicates
Allowing duplicates models independent draws — each pick forgets the last, like rolling dice. Blocking duplicates models sampling without replacement — like dealing cards, where each draw shrinks the pool. With no duplicates, you can never ask for more numbers than the range holds.
Reading the distribution chart
The bars count how often each value appeared in your set. With enough draws the bars even out — that flatness is uniformity, the signature of a fair generator. Clumps in small sets are normal noise, not bias.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the generator truly random?
It uses your browser's cryptographic random source (crypto.getRandomValues), which is unpredictable and unbiased — far better than textbook pseudo-random formulas.
How do I prevent duplicate numbers?
Tick "No duplicates". The generator then draws without replacement, like pulling names from a hat.
What happens if I ask for more numbers than the range holds?
With "No duplicates" on, that is impossible — the calculator tells you the maximum available and refuses rather than repeating.
Can I use this for a raffle or giveaway?
Yes — set min 1, max to your entrant count, "No duplicates", and draw as many winners as you need. For legally significant draws, consider a supervised third-party service.
Why do small sets look "clumpy"?
Randomness clusters — a perfectly even spread in 5 draws would actually be suspicious. The law of large numbers smooths things out over hundreds of draws.
